Graduate students in the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University who participated in LS5333: School Library Media Center in Spring 2010 worked in teams of three or four to create profiles for elementary and middle school librarians and marketing-advocacy tools for school library programs.

 

Students in LS5443: Librarians As Instructional Partners  engaged in this assignment during the Fall semesters 2010 and 2011 and Spring semester 2011.

 

In in Fall 2012, the graduate students will target decision-makers (school administrators) for this assignment.

 

This is a collaborative project of faculty and staff in the College of Professional Education at Texas Woman's University in Denton. The information on this site is used by students and faculty to share the positive impact of classroom-library collaboration for instruction on K-12 student learning outcomes. In addition, this site has been used and will continue to be used in presentations for preservice classroom teachers and principals, and Master's students studying reading.

In this assignment, graduate library science students preparing to be serve as school librarians synthesize their semester-long learning to collaboratively develop a marketing and advocacy tool to disseminate information, activities, and research in the area of classroom-library instructional partnerships.
