Classroom-Library Collaboration for Instruction

Kachel et al. (2011) summarized the research findings of the School Library Impact Studies (Library Research Service 2012) and identified a positive correlation between classroom-library collaboration for instruction and increased student achievement in fifteen out of the twenty-one studies they reviewed. Collaboration for instruction is an essential component of a 21st-century school and for a 21st-century school library program as well. Working as a team, educators can improve student learning outcomes while developing the effectiveness of their own teaching practices.
